    Job Description

    POSTING – The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RHCA) is looking for a qualified individual with experience in the development and implementation of construction safety training and related programs for working adults. These programs will involve development, coordination and implementation of classes in Dallas/Fort Worth and Texas as required.

    Bilingual (English and Spanish) and grant implementation experience is preferred. The candidate will be working from the RHCA office in Dallas/Fort Worth.

    PURPOSE – The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association (RHCA) is seeking individuals that will be responsible for the development, coordination, management and implementation of the Construction Safety Training Programs and related programs for working adults, as required and directed by grants and the RHCA.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • PLAN and establish location (venue), time and date.
    • NEGOTIATE favorable terms with the venue vendors and trainers. All subject to RHCA management approval.
    • ENSURE that all required training equipment and materials are available at venues.
    • ADMINISTER participant registration, attendance and completion of required documentation.
    • PROMOTE/MARKET recruit and register minimal number of participants as required. Guarantee each participant completes class and required paperwork.
    • MANAGE the entire program process where/when required as directed by Vice President of Programs.
    • OTHER DUTIES as assigned to include administrative, clerical and RHCA events programs participation.
    • TRAVEL will be mainly within Dallas/Fort Worth area with some travel through Texas and other U.S. locations.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

    • Reports directly to Vice President of Programs.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE EDUCATION

    • A demonstrated and proven track record in training, events planning and execution. Experience in working with Federal Grants is preferred but not required

    SKILLS

    • Bilingual – English and Spanish is preferred Computer skills
    • Communicate, engage and establish effective and positive relationships with RHCA employees, members and third parties.

    EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Event Coordination
    • Class and Curriculum planning and implementation Recruitment of qualified participants and trainers Knowledge and relationships with relevant organizations
    • Knowledge and experience of working with processes to establish proper class size (number of participants required)

    ABILITIES

    • Effective verbal and written communication ability Microsoft Office Suite
    • Adobe
    • Lift at least 25 lb, move and set up audio visual, furniture for effective training environment as directed
    • Establish positive relationships with class participants, trainers and RHCA Staff Write curriculum and develop presentation materials if necessary

    Individual must have a vehicle and flexible schedule.

    ORGANIZATION HISTORY The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association formerly the Hispanic Contractors Association of DFW was formed in 1995 to address the needs of one of the fastest growing sectors of the construction industry. In addition in giving voice to the business and political concerns of its members, the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association serves the community through its outreach program. The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association has streamlined and improved the bid process for its members. Hispanic Contractors Association members have been successful in working with local and state elected officials to ensure fairness in awarding of bids. Additionally, the RHCA has implemented several new initiatives to offer members expanded support services and benefits. MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association is to promote and support the advancement and economic growth of the Hispanic contractors, architects and engineers in Texas. We are committed to developing programs and facilitating the resources needed to help the diverse Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) Industry reach their potential. SERVICES Some of our programs being developed this year include a Website for members to use as a resource guide for upcoming jobs, financial, legal assistance, insurance and bonds, etc. We are working on setting up classes to help more Hispanics become bilingual. It is important to be able to communicate with those entities that will provide the opportunity for growth. In addition, we are starting up a mentoring program to help individuals train and learn about all aspects of the construction industry. We also have a plan room available for members to check our plans of current projects. As well, throughout the year we have various events that facilitate networking for all members.
