    Job Description

    NBC News Channel is a division of the NBC News Group, based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    The Regional Producer serves as the primary editorial liaison between NBC News group, its owned and affiliated stations, and foreign and domestic partners. The Regional Producer gathers information on local coverage plans, monitors developing and breaking news, and identifies content with regional and national relevance.

    This is a full-time staff position and shifts could include weekend shifts.

    ** Job Responsibilities:**

    • Primary contact with affiliate stations on local coverage
    • Book and monitor live and tape feeds
    • Respond quickly to breaking news
    • Provide written editorial content and edit video for news stories
    • Respond and fulfil content and reporter requests for NBC News network platforms
    • Use all available editorial, social media, and desktop tools to gather, view, and share stories
    • Book transmission facilities for live and tape feeds
    • Fulfil requests for all NBC Network platforms
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree - preferably in journalism or communications
    • At least 4 years of experience working within local or network news environment
    • Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays
    • Must be able to work flexible hours during major breaking news
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong editorial judgment and customer service skills
    • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
    • Strong work ethic and organizational skills

    Additional Requirements:

    Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
