Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Job Description
Location: Burbank, CA Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist in providing efficient, high-quality treatments while also managing key administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments. Your goal is to enhance the dental experience for every patient, making them feel like part of the family.
Required Qualifications
Active California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License in good standing.
Associate’s Degree from a school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
CPR/BLS Certification from an American Heart Association or equivalent provider.
Radiography Certification approved by the California Dental Board.
Knowledge of California Dental Practice Act
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and dental imaging systems.
Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills.
Bilingual in Armenian and Russian
Job Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable
Review and record patients’ medical and dental histories; take and record vital signs
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during exams and dental procedures (e.g., restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments)
Apply topical anesthetics and desensitizing agents as permitted
Perform coronal polishing and apply fluoride treatments
Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols
Take impressions for diagnostic models, whitening trays, and custom appliances
Place, pack, and remove temporary restorations as authorized by the Dental Practice Act
Sterilization & Infection Control
Ensure proper sterilization and preparation of instruments and dental equipment
Maintain operatory cleanliness and comply with OSHA, CDC, and dental board infection control regulations
Monitor sterilization logs and equipment maintenance schedules
Administrative & Front Office Support
Schedule and confirm appointments; coordinate referrals when needed
Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
Document clinical notes and treatment details accurately in patient records
Communicate with patients regarding treatment plans and answer questions professionally
Assist with inventory control and ordering of dental and office supplies
Compliance & Professional Standards
Maintain current RDA licensure and required certifications (e.g., BLS/CPR)
Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Follow all office policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Participate in continuing education and team meetings to support professional development
