    Summary

Cummins Dental Group is seeking a dependable, motivated Dental Assistant to join our private practice in downtown Silver Spring. We are looking for someone who takes pride in excellent patient care, enjoys working as part of a strong team, and wants the opportunity to continue developing their clinical skills.

Our practice provides comprehensive dentistry, including restorative care, endodontics, oral surgery, dental implants, Invisalign, and digital dentistry. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, attentive to detail, and able to anticipate the needs of both the doctor and our patients.

We value attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn as much as experience. An experienced assistant can step into a role with significant clinical responsibility, while a motivated candidate with strong potential will have opportunities to learn and grow with our practice.

    Responsibilities:

Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures

Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment

Take high-quality digital radiographs and intraoral photographs

    Perform iTero scanning

Maintain excellent infection control, sterilization, and OSHA standards

Anticipate the doctor's needs to support efficient, on-time patient care

Educate patients and clearly reinforce post-operative, and home-care instructions

Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation

Monitor clinical supplies and assist with inventory management

Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, stocked, and ready throughout the day

Assist with laboratory cases and communication as needed

Provide a warm, reassuring experience for patients before, during, and after treatment

Work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams to maintain efficient patient flow

Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education

    Experience

    Previous dental assisting experience preferred

Maryland Dental Radiation Technologist certification required

Experience with digital radiography and dental practice technology

Experience with iTero scanning, Invisalign, orthodontic records, attachment placement/removal, or other orthodontic procedures is a strong plus

Experience assisting with endodontics, oral surgery, temporary crown fabrication and implant procedures is a plus

Strong infection control and sterilization knowledge

Excellent communication, organization, and patient-care skills

Ability to anticipate clinical needs, take initiative, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

We are willing to consider candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong potential, reliability, professionalism, and a genuine desire to learn and grow

Join a team where excellent patient care, teamwork, and continued growth are genuinely valued. At Cummins Dental Group, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your skills across comprehensive general dentistry while gaining exposure to advanced procedures and modern dental technology. We use Open Dental as our practice management software so previous Open Dental experience is a plus, but not required. If you are dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and take pride in creating an exceptional experience for patients, we would love to hear from you.

    Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
