Our Wellness Through Nutrition program empowers individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes through personalized nutrition support, evidence-based guidance, and compassionate care. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about helping patients achieve long-term wellness through virtual nutrition counseling and education.
Duties/Responsibilities of the role:
- Provide individualized telehealth nutrition counseling sessions for patients seeking wellness, weight management, chronic disease prevention, and lifestyle improvement.
- Develop personalized nutrition care plans based on patient goals, medical history, and readiness for change.
- Educate patients on healthy eating habits, meal planning, portion control, label reading, and behavior modification strategies.
- Support patients with conditions such as:
- Prediabetes and diabetes
- Hypertension
- Obesity and weight management
- High cholesterol
- Digestive health concerns
- General wellness and preventive nutrition
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and evidence-based nutrition standards.
- Stay current on nutrition science, telehealth best practices, and industry trends.
Required
- Registered Dietitian credential (RD/RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Active state licensure/certification for Texas
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
- Strong communication and motivational interviewing skills
- Comfortable using telehealth technology, video platforms, and EHR systems
- Ability to work independently and manage scheduling efficiently
Preferred
- Experience in telehealth or virtual counseling
- Experience with diabetes education, weight management, or preventive wellness
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required
- Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, or underserved populations
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred but not required
