    🌿 About the Role

    As a Registered Home Care Aide, you will deliver exceptional, high-touch care in an upscale setting. You will provide personalized, non-medical services to clients who require assistance in their daily lives while maintaining dignity, comfort, and independence.

    The Registered Home Care Aide is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Executive Director/Administrator and performs various non-medical services for a client as necessary to meet the client’s personal needs, to promote the client’s comfort, and a safe environment. The Home Care Aide is responsible for observing clients and reporting/documenting these observations and the services provided.

    📌 Job Responsibilities:

    Services will be provided by the Registered Home Care Aide to a client. (Health and Safety Code § 1796.12(j).) Home care services are nonmedical services and assistance provided by a Registered Home Care Aide to a client who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these activities. These services specified in Health and Safety Code section 1796.12, subdivision (n), enable the client to remain in their residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following:

    • Bathing

    • Exercising

    • Making telephone calls

    • Meal planning and preparation

    • Dressing

    • Positioning

    • Transferring

    • Ambulating

    • Feeding

    • Companionship

    • Housekeeping

    • Laundry

    • Personal hygiene and grooming

    • Transportation

    • Shopping for personal care items or groceries

    • Toileting and incontinence care

    • Assisting with medication that the client self-administers

    • Correspondence: Examples of nonmedical services a Registered Home Care Aide may provide when assisting with medication that the client self-administers are :

    Opening the client’s medication bottle/canister/blister pack

    Reminding the client to take medication

    Reminding a client to refill medication

    • Mandatory abuse reporting to appropriate agency per Health and Safety Code Section 1796.42.

    📌 Position Qualifications/Requirements:

    Home Care Aides are required to be registered on the Home Care Aide Registry. The Home Care Aide Registry can be found here: https://www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/hcsregistry/about.aspx

    Conditions of employment or volunteering include: ■ Fingerprint clearance, ■ Statement of prior criminal convictions, and ■ Acknowledgment of requirements to report suspected abuse.

    In addition to the above, conditions of employment as an affiliated Home Care Aide include ■ TB clearance, ■ Entry-level and annual training, and ■ Registration on the Home Care Aide Registry,

    One-year experience in hospital or nursing home setting preferred.

    Completed recognized nurse assistant training program desired.

    At least 18 years of age and is a high school graduate or equivalent.

    Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.

    Displays initiative and able to work with minimal direct supervision.

    Empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired.

    Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.

    Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with the Organization requirements and is in good working order preferred.

    Possess and maintain valid CPR certification.
