    Job Description

    This position is contingent upon award of contract.

    This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

    International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Endocrinology Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for patients with endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, thyroid conditions, and hormonal imbalances, by facilitating assessments, administering treatments, and offering education to support effective disease management. This role involves coordinating care, monitoring patient progress, and fostering communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance health outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with endocrine disorders, including obtaining detailed medical histories and evaluating symptoms related to hormonal imbalances and metabolic issues.
    • Administer prescribed treatments, including medications and insulin therapy, while monitoring patients for efficacy and potential side effects.
    • Educate patients and their families on self-management practices for conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and adrenal disorders, including nutrition, exercise, and medication adherence.
    • Collaborate with endocrinologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that address each patient's specific needs.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting assessments, treatments, patient responses, and follow-up care in accordance with clinic policies and healthcare regulations.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational programs to enhance patient care and stay current with advancements in endocrinology.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements/Certifications:

    • Three (3) years current outpatient experience required.
    • Current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico) of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia.
    • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to obtain a nursing license.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

    Education Required:

    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.

    Other Special Qualifications:

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
    • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
    • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

    Additional Information

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

    Compensation| Min: $44hr Max: $59hr
