Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients according to established protocols and best practices, ensuring the safety and comfort of each patient.
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document findings to establish individualized care plans and goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and monitor patients for effectiveness and side effects, educating patients about their medications and care.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients and their families on health management, treatment plans, post-discharge care, and lifestyle modifications to promote wellness and prevention.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, addressing concerns and providing support for patients and their families throughout the healthcare experience.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions according to protocol.
- Professional Development: Stay current with nursing practices, participate in continuing education, and engage in team training and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana.
- Experience: Previous nursing experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities is preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, effective communication (verbal and written), ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move patients
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for performing procedures
