    Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical

    Location: Washington, DC 20032

    Contract: 8 Weeks

    Schedule: 3×12‑Hour Night Shifts

    Pay Range: $62.00 – $72.00/hour

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a skilled Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) to join an acute care inpatient unit. The RN will deliver high‑quality, compassionate patient care while applying clinical expertise across a diverse patient population.

    In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, interpret clinical data, determine patient needs, and execute care plans in accordance with licensure, regulatory standards, and hospital policies. The ideal candidate provides safe and efficient care, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

    Requirements

    Active RN License – District of Columbia

    Certifications:

    NIHSS

    BLS

    ACLS

    RN Experience: Minimum 2 years

    Med Tele Acute Care Inpatient Experience: 1 year

    Cerner EMR Experience

    Education: Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program

    Telemetry Rhythm Interpretation Test — Must be completed prior to start

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care

    Perform and document initial and ongoing patient assessments, including full review of systems

    Complete admission assessments within defined facility timeframes

    Utilize knowledge of human development to provide age‑appropriate care

    Interpret patient information and determine appropriate nursing needs

    Implement and evaluate individualized care plans

    Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams

    Demonstrate understanding of required treatments aligned with patient conditions

    Support patients, families, and the community with professionalism and empathy
