  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Registered Nurse to join the Novus Clinic team in a multifaceted role that blends direct patient care with clinical coordination. This position serves as a key point of contact for all external clinical referrals, provides STI evaluation, testing, and treatment in a walk-in clinic setting, and supports care delivery across multiple sites. The RN will also be paired with a designated care provider, maintaining an active role within a clinical team and managing a dedicated patient panel.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Direct Patient Care

    • Collaborate directly with physicians and nurse practitioners to provide trauma informed patient care. The scope of this role is direct patient contact while performing evaluation, assessments, systems review, medication reviews in addition this position will assist with lab ordering and results. Responsible for timely and accurate patient visits and documenting information related to their visits in the EMR.

    • Be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care of patients of all ages.

    • Screen, communicate, and respond to patient needs appropriately.

    • Administer ordered medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, or sublingual routes.

    • Triage and respond to patient telephone calls using approved protocols.

    • Ensure patient privacy and comfort during the examination.

    • Greet patients and prepare them for their examination.

    • Be accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients of all ages, according to their individualized needs.

    • Educate patients about diagnostic procedures, medications, chronic disease management and treatment instructions.

    • Ensure timely and accurate entry of medical information into EMR.

    • Adhere to ethical nursing standards, policies, and procedures.

    • Review and record laboratory testing.

    • Communicate to nurse practitioners and physicians on required medical information.

    • Training and cross training as needed.

    • Support the growth and advancement of Novus Health’s mission.

    Patient Medical Referral Coordination:

    • Coordinate all outside clinical referrals, ensuring documentation in EMR and follow-up reporting and scheduling for all patients of NOVUS.

    • Consult with providers and assign patients as needed.

    • Maintain a review of outside referrals and close all patient reporting loops within the referral process.

    STI/HIV/PrEP Care:

    • Perform STI/HIV testing and prepare specimens for State Lab.

    • Provide patient education on STI/HIV, and PrEP.

    • Assess patients for PrEP and educate them on options.

    • Enter and review data in the EMR for all patients seen through the walk-in clinic.

    Multi-site Care Services:

    • Provide provider/patient support at both our Northside and Cape Girardeau locations on a monthly basis and at designated times and dates.

    • Perform lab draws and collections at all sites as needed.

    • Stock medical supplies at facilities to maintain adequate access when working from these remote locations

    • Document all clinical care within the EMR

    Clinic RN/LPN Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited university/college.

    • Current certification to practice medicine in the state of Missouri.

    • Three (3) year’s experience as a RN/LPN in Public Health and/or work in infectious disease.

    • Nonprofit and health clinic experience preferred.

    • Previous knowledge and training working with STI and HIV services

    • Advanced communication skills; verbal and written.

    • Excellent customer service skills

    • Flexibility to work with diverse patient population

    • Be willing to travel

    • Ability to work within scheduled clinic hours of operation
