    Full-Time PACU RN

    USPI's Christus Cabrini Surgery Center is seeking a full-time PACU RN with experience in post-anesthesia care to provide compassionate recovery care for same-day surgery patients before discharge. Christus Cabrini Surgery Center is a fast paced surgery center environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

    • Assess patients’ post-operative condition
    • Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
    • Log and chart all findings in the patients chart
    • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
    • Perform intervention duties during postoperative emergencies

    Required Skills

    • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in LA
    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre-OP/PACU
    • Experienced in providing post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from conscious sedation, general anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care
    • BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred and must be obtained within one year.
    • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
    • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
