Essential HealthCare Solution is seeking full-time Registered Nurses – Post Anesthesia Care in support of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit under the direction of the Service Chief and Assistant Service Chief.
Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable of equipment and supply terminology and skill sufficient to identify and use necessary equipment and supplies properly and to communicate proper use with nurses, medical staff, patients, and family members.
Knowledgeable and possesses the nursing skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients.
Shall know the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served: Infants, Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatric (>65).
Assess, coordinate, facilitate, deliver, and evaluate care for infant to geriatric patients using the nursing process.
Effectively manage the care of potentially critical patients for up to two hours.
knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies, and treatments related to the prevention and detection of illnesses in adults is desirable.
Knowledgeable in professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty, with special needs, paralysis, amputations, and expressive disorders.
Fully comprehensive and fluent in speaking and writing the English language.
Be able to assist with bed-to-bed, bed-to-chair, chair-to-chair, wheelchair-to-commode, and commode to wheelchair transfer patients
Will be able to walk the distance of 500 yards without needing rest, push an occupied wheelchair, push an occupied gurney, and lift linen bags of 30 lbs.
Type efficiently and prepare medications from vials for patient care.
Able to read (with or without assistive devices) computer screens and medication vials/packets.
Care for critically ill patients, including the management of invasive lines and advanced monitoring.
Responsible for recognizing and responding to life-threatening changes in a patient's condition; titration of vasoactive medications and operating specialized medical equipment. This includes but is not limited to epidural pumps, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) devices, cardiac monitors, IV pumps, airway adjuncts, and mechanical ventilators.
Education & Qualifications:
Degree/Education: Bachelor's Degree, Registered Nursing.
Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS Provider), as required by assigned MTF, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Experience: Minimum of two years of current experience as a PACU RN in an inpatient Phase 1 recovery unit, or at least one year of experience in Critical Care.
Board Certification: National League of Nursing (NLN) approved program. Successfully pass the NCLEX exam. Copy of Certificate and license required.
Have completed a Post-Anesthesia Care course/training program or are nationally certified as a Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN).
Licensure/Registration: Possess a current, active, valid, unrestricted license in at least one U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, Territory, or jurisdiction.
Work Schedule:
Hours of Performance: Monday through Friday, in accordance with the work schedule, including coverage on Federal Holidays and Government-designated training holidays. Shifts: Contract employees will be required to work a 10-hour shift - 40 hours a week (excluding weekends), including coverage on Federal Holidays and Government-designated training holidays. Day-shift contractors are required to work one (1) evening shift week within a 6-week scheduling block to meet mission requirements.
Salary: $48.74 / hr. (Includes H&W)
