Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care at a federal prison camp in Alderson, West Virginia. FPC Alderson is a minimum-security federal prison camp for female inmates in rural southeastern West Virginia. You will deliver assessments, medication administration, wound care, and emergency response for the female inmate population, with attention to women's health nursing needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments, triage sick call requests, and implement treatment plans
- Administer medications including controlled substances with accurate documentation
- Perform wound care, phlebotomy, IV therapy, and point-of-care testing
- Support women's health screenings and prenatal/postnatal nursing care
- Monitor patients on chronic care protocols
- Respond to medical emergencies
- Coordinate care between providers and specialty consultants
- Maintain documentation in the BOP electronic health record
Required Qualifications
- ADN or BSN
- Active, unrestricted West Virginia RN license (or ability to obtain)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Women's health or OB nursing experience
- Correctional nursing experience
- CCHP certification
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 annually
