    Appalachian Community Services (ACS), an ncgCARE partner, is dedicated to providing mental health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disability services to individuals and families across the seven western counties of North Carolina.     Compensation: $42.62 - $48.37

    We are seeking Registered Nurse's to provide the following services:

    This is a PRN position

    • Ability to work with individuals who experience symptoms of severe and persistent mental illness and substance abuse/dependence, including consumers with a co-occurring developmental disability.
    • Considerable knowledge and skill in the application of theory, practices, principles, and techniques of the nursing profession; ability to understand, interpret and relate oral and written instructions; ability to explain medical instructions in consumer and their families/ some ability to organize and supervise the work of other professional and nonprofessional employees; considerable knowledge of the area of work and medications; ability to gain the confidence of patients and to work effectively with them.
    • Assist consumers in gaining skills to address problems.
    • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team approach.
    • Ability to set limits and maintain a helping role and to intervene appropriately to meet the needs of persons or families served.
