The opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and collaborative Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology (BBSB) group in a hands-on role to discover the next generation of innovative therapeutics based on protein motion. Your role Youll focus on using multiple biophysical methods, such as SPR, ITC, MST and DSF, to find small molecule leads, characterize screening hits and project compounds, and determine their molecular mechanism of action Youll be responsible for analyzing, interpreting and presenting data to project teams Youll contribute to development of experimental methods for measuring small molecule:protein interactions and understanding protein conformational dynamics Youll help to explore and evaluate new biophysical technologies You will collaborate and participate in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to group knowledge and exchanging ideas Your background BA/BS or MS degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Enzymology or a related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience A solid understanding of protein structure, biophysical chemistry, and/or enzyme mechanism Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and present data in a clear manner An interest in contributing to medicinal chemistry drug discovery efforts to evaluate compound SAR and mode of action characterization Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience with SPR, ITC or MST will be valued At Relay, we believe that along with our scientists, our culture is our greatest asset.
