The role
As a Reliability Engineer, you will ensure Vale's hardware products meet their reliability, durability, and safety targets throughout the product lifecycle.
- Define reliability requirements and targets for Vale's hardware products
- Develop and lead reliability test programs including HALT, HASS, and accelerated life testing
- Conduct FMEA, fault tree analysis, and reliability modeling across hardware systems
- Analyze field data and in-lab test results to identify failure modes and drive corrective actions
- Collaborate with design teams to implement reliability improvements early in the development cycle
- Maintain reliability databases and reporting systems for field performance tracking
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for deployed hardware
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 5+ years of reliability engineering experience in hardware product development
- Experience with HALT/HASS, ALT, and reliability growth testing
- Proficiency in FMEA, FTA, and reliability modeling tools (ReliaSoft, Isograph, or similar)
- Strong statistical background with experience analyzing failure data (Weibull analysis)
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) a plus
Compensation
$108,000 – $145,000 per year
