Job Description
The Reliability Manager provides leadership and deploys the Reliability strategy in support of the plant’s strategic and production plans. He/she is the Site System Leader responsible for improving asset utilization, uptime and production throughout the site by implementing proven Maintenance Excellence and Reliability improvement processes. They ensure responsive and proactive maintenance support to all plant Operations partners by implementing sound work management processes. He/she is responsible for contributing to departmental budgeting, professional and technical development of his/her assigned salaried and hourly associates.
PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Work within Maintenance and closely with the production groups to determine projects that increase value to the company. In addition, proper prioritization, and management of the project to maximize value.
- Leads and is responsible for the execution of Pixelle’s Spring Grove Facility’s Reliability Program (Reliability Roadmap). Program breaks down into milestones that encompass aspects of precision maintenance, predictive maintenance, operator basic care, lubrication, Root Cause Failure Analysis [RCFA], and more.
- Manage, mentor, and coach Reliability Engineers and Reliability Superintendent on reliability best practices, personnel development, and safety.
- Brainstorm and drive continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with operational teams to reduce downtime.
- Facilitate monthly reliability forums with other facilities within the corporation to increase communication and overall organization reliability.
- Work with Spring Grove’s Maintenance & Engineering Managers to budget future projects based on criticality and ROI with attention to designing for reliability.
- Identify and manage expense projects that provide incremental improvements to the facility.
- Analyze and audit the program through data in SAP and other documentation control methods to identify, communicate, and improve mill KPIs.
- Develops and refines routes/methods to determine reliability of components, equipment, and processes using vibration monitoring, thermography, and oil analysis tools.
- Manage facilities RCFA system and ensure investigations are conducted and action items are implemented in a timely manner.
- Refine and audit Preventative Maintenance orders around resource allocation to ensure critical work is completed and prioritized over non-critical PMs.
- Work and negotiate with union members and leadership to enhance maintenance shop efficiencies and responsibilities.
- Refine asset criticality to better define proactive maintenance approaches that are cost-beneficial to the business.
