    Work Hours: M-F 8:00 to 5:00

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ANALYST POSITION SUMMARY: The position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing business processes from end to end to identify and implement opportunities for Continuous Improvement.  The objective of this role is to maximize operational effectiveness while mitigating risks, ensuring compliance and minimizing financial impacts to processes and related systems. This role will take ownership of assigned business processes and work in partnership with the business leaders and the IT department to define and execute end to end process initiatives and support other efforts requiring Continuous Improvement to drive cost, quality and time duration efficiencies across the cooperative. In essence this position will assist in leading, coaching and mentoring the Continuous Improvement journey throughout the enterprise.

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ANALYST POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work cross functionally to develop and reinforce the use of Continuous Improvement methodologies.  Accountabilities may include operational assessments, process flow mapping, measurement development and Continuous Improvement knowledge transfer to division personnel
    • Work with assigned end to end Value Stream Owners on business processes and identify opportunities to deliver significant Continuous Improvement results to ensure that business processes support long-term business objectives
    • Ensure assigned key Continuous Improvement initiatives are implemented and sustained
    • Facilitate the development and documentation of complex ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ processes, including maps and associated documentation, in compliance with Continuous Improvement mapping standards, tools and systems
    • Identify, recommend, and facilitate the implementation and documentation of appropriate metrics that support business targets and overall enterprise strategy; ensure that the processes related to data capture and reporting are standardized, reliable and transparent
    • Lead and or facilitate assigned Continuous Improvement initiatives and teams.  Lead the evaluation, problem-solving and implementation process and ensure processes and commitment exist to sustain implement improvements.  Assure goals are met.
    • Analyze operational and divisional issues, recommend corrective actions, assess potential impact and facilitate solution implementation.  Consult and collaborate with management personnel on issues and Continuous Improvement initiatives
    • Assist with the prioritization and implementation of improvement initiatives. Conduct and/or assist in advanced level cost/benefit analysis of proposed solutions in support of prioritizing efforts
    • Collaborate enterprise wide with functional divisions to identify process improvement opportunities and streamline processes to optimize member value add, minimize business value add and eliminate non-value add activities across the organization  
    • Lead small to mid-sized and/or assist others on larger more complex continuous improvement initiatives
    • Build strong and effective relationships with management and stakeholders and act as a key contributor in a cross-functional environment
    • Act as a subject matter expert on Continuous Improvement methodologies.  Consult with, advise, involve and educate employees.  Coach and develop division personnel to enhance their knowledge and understanding of Continuous Improvement mindsets, methodologies and application.  Help ensure employees reach and maintain a high level of efficiency and enthusiasm
    • Deliver Continuous Improvement orientation and training to various work groups. Establish understanding and enthusiasm for Continuous Improvement processes with various teams.
    • Understand LCEC’s enterprise flagship applications and systems.  Understand potential impact on end to end processes and associated workflows.
    • Assist in driving business awareness of quality/process methodology; be a role model in support of organizational change management

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ANALYST REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or another related field
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Business Process Management Certification or equivalent experience
    • Previous experience in complex process and/or business analysis in addition to improvement success in managing small to medium enterprise initiatives
    • Ability to analyze and synthesize business processes to include recognizing patterns and conceptualization facilitation
    • Excellent collaboration, communication and negotiation skills to include the ability to understand and negotiate the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders
    • Business acumen skills including strong understanding of risk assessment and knowledge of change management
    • Ability to work with integrity, build trust and mentor others while accomplishing assigned responsibilities
    • Ability to influence and assist in the facilitation and adoption of systemic and cultural change across multiple sites/locations.
    • Inclined toward strategic thinking with strong interpersonal skills suited for communicating across the cooperative. Able to guide and offer advisory perspective to others.
    • Ability to understand how processes flow across the organization combined with an understanding of functional areas sufficient to demonstrate fluency in business processes and process waste elimination.
    • Value stream and/or Kaizen (Rapid Improvement Event) experience across service families.
    • Highly effective analytical and detail-oriented capabilities
    • Advanced data analysis skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Excel
    • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
    • Ability to remain flexible as priorities may change frequently
    • Ability to understand, summarize and present complex data effectively to a variety of audiences across the organization
    • Ability to consult and influence across the organization while identifying and providing key facts and reasoning for recommended changes

    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ANALYST DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Computer Information Systems strongly desired
    • Previous experience in quality management systems, including enterprise wide, end to end, process improvement and implementation of same
    • Owns a distinctive track record of developing not only “teams with tools” but the mindset that fosters continuous study, restudy and learning.
    • Proven experience successfully leading, coaching and mentoring others in the use Continuous Improvement tools as a critical diagnostic and behavioral change methodology.
    • Proficiency with Business Intelligence reporting and SQL
    • Experience in Utilities industry

  • Qualifications
    • High School/Technical School Graduate
    • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs
    • Ability to read English to read maintenance work orders, schematic drawings/blueprints and maintenance/safety manuals
    • Ability to comprehend electrical-mechanical& hydraulic systems, HVAC and plumbing systems
    • Knowledge of electricity (110, 230 and 460 voltage)
    • Experience of operating an overhead crane, forklift, hand tools and common shop machinery
    • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic, mechanical and hydraulic repairs

    Certifications/Licenses:

    • Valid OSHA Forklift, Overhead Crane and Aerial Work Platform Certificates
