Job Title: Relief Driver (Class A CDL)
Location: Monroe, La
Reports To: Fleet Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Position Overview:
The Relief Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods, materials, or equipment using a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) vehicle. This position serves as backup coverage for regular route drivers, filling in as needed to support delivery schedules and operational demands. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-oriented, and flexible, with strong communication and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Class A CDL vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies
Provide coverage for regular route drivers during absences, vacations, or high-demand periods
Transport, and deliver goods accurately and on schedule
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness per DOT requirements
Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and required documentation (electronic and paper)
Communicate proactively with dispatch and operations regarding delivery times, route changes, or delays
Adhere to all weight limits, traffic regulations, and company operational guidelines
Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
Always represent the company professionally with clients, customers, and the public
Responsible for account integrity, including, product rotation, restock coolers, window placements, displays and shelves
Qualifications:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
Current DOT Medical Card and ability to pass required physical and drug screening
Clean FMCSA record
Ability to operate various commercial delivery trucks, vans, and/ or tractor-trailer combinations
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions
Work Schedule & Conditions:
4 day work week. 3 day weekend! (Tuesday-Friday)
Arrive at the warehouse between 5:00 - 5:30am in uniform and ready to work!
Physical demands include sitting for extended periods, climbing in/out of vehicles, and loading/unloading freight
