    Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
    Shift: A-Shift
    Location: Rochester, NY area

     

    General Job Summary:
    In addition to performing the essential functions of a maintenance mechanic/electrician, directs and coordinates all functions of the maintenance department.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensures adherence to and follows all safety process and procedures in accordance with the job and Company policy.
    • Prioritizes and directs the work of maintenance mechanics and maintenance electricians.
    • Assists with the resolution of maintenance problems.
    • Ensures maintenance assignments are completed in a timely, efficient, and satisfactory manner.
    • Performs duties of maintenance mechanic and maintenance electrician as required.
    • Hires, evaluates, and manages performance of direct reports.
    • Communicates with Maintenance Manager daily with respect to projects, machine status, employee issues and work in progress updates.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Supervises 2-7 Associates. Individual must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training Associates; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree
    • 3-5 years related experience in electrical, mechanical repair
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, interpret operation manuals; understanding of manufacturing equipment; ability to use hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment.
    • Microsoft Word & Excel experience.
    • Experience with maintenance software a plus
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
    • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
