    Job Title: Maintenance Technician I (Direct Hire)

    Job Type: Full Time / Permanent / Direct Hire

    Location: Syracuse, NY

    Shift: Day shift 6am-2:30pm

    Pay: Starting at $18-21/hour DOE**could be higher

    Essential job duties for this role will include:

    • Requires the ability to read and write, interpret and read decimals and fractions, and interpret simple schematics. Must own a basic set of maintenance tools.
    • Perform a variety of mechanical and millwright maintenance duties with guidance and assistance from other higher classified maintenance mechanics.
    • Work from detailed instructions or prescribe routine.
    • Assist on major projects and assist others in the tear down and reassembly of operating mechanism, hold and position work, run errands or other similar assignments.
    • Perform the more routine assignments involving carpentry, plumbing, masonry, etc.; Work, such as cut and rip wood and build or repair floors, stairs, etc., mix mortar or cement and repair concrete surfaces, oil and lubricate equipment, replace defective filters and more.
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and report any damaged or faulty equipment during PM.
    • To Maintain continuous movement of work, use hand truck, lift truck, overhead crane to move work to and from designated storage, staging areas, or work station.
    • Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality standards.
    • Keep work area neat and clean on a daily basis.
    • Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
    • Notify supervisor or safety director of any unsafe act or practice stopped.
    • Keep supervisor fully informed of any work related issues that arise.
    • Read and interpret measuring devices
    • Perform daily lift truck inspections
    • Communicate effectively with leaders and co-workers

    We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician with the following background profile/skillset:

    • High School Diploma or General education degree (GED) or 3 years work experience
    • Strong math and computer capability
    • Detail oriented and able to communicate effectively
    • Have or secure forklift certification
    • Participate in training events: Lockout Tagout / HazCom and overhead crane training
    • Schematics, drawings, various metals, construction materials, paints, various hardware, repair parts, lubricants, machine manuals.
    • Must be willing to wear PPE: safety glasses, side shields, safety shoes and other PPE In accordance with working tasks.
