    Job Title: Machinist, I / II / III (Direct Hire)

    Job Type: Full Time / Direct Hire / Permanent

    Location: Rochester, NY

    Shift: Days

     

    Pay: $18-$30/hour, DOE

    Essential job duties for this role will include:

    • Machine (drill, mill and tap) a wide assortment of sometimes intricate castings, forgings, weldments, and machined parts.
    • Inspect/Verify parts with hand tools (micrometers, caliper) and/or hard gaging; and be accountable for own parts.
    • Setup machine center to perform required operation that requires blocking, and alignment of parts.
    • Set 3 axis position stops, fixture offsets, select proper feeds, speeds, and tools.
    • Perform operator intervened operations that are required by program sequences.

     

    We’re looking for Machinists with the following background profile/skillset:

    • High school diploma, AAS in related technical discipline preferred
    • Journeyman or completion of apprenticeship program is a plus.
    • Must have at least 1 year working on vertical and/or horizontal machine tools.
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sometimes of a complex nature with interrelated dimensions.
    • Proficiency to produce parts of good quality with specifications of .001”-.004”
    • Frequent firm grip with tools requiring torque to tighten machine parts, tooling, and fixtures
    • Solid understanding of cutting tools, endmills, drill, and reamers.
    • Perform tool offsets for length and diameter, with a willingness to further training.
    • Program, set-up, run parts, inspect, and make adjustments to produce conforming parts with no supervision a plus.
    • CAM Certification a plus.
