    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic / Packaging (Direct Hire)

    Job Type: Full Time / Direct Hire

    Location: Canandaigua, NY

    Shift: Off shifts / B or C Shift – varied shifts available

    Pay: $22-43/hr. depending on experience – shift differential

    **Sign on bonus: $5000.00

    The Job Duties:

    • Mechanics or Technical skills considered
    • Industrial Maintenance required
    • Able to repair, install and maintain bearings / cylinders / belts / motors / conveyors
    • Automation experience helpful: Bagging machines / case tapers / some robotic palletizing
    • Electrical and PLC experience
    • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines
    • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
    • Troubleshoot malfunctions through understanding of power transmission systems, fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics), and other machine components and systems
    • Locate root cause of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments
    • Assist with changeovers and prepare machinery for scheduled production runs
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
    • Diagnose and prioritize problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as required to return machinery to service
    • Understand production systems and machinery thoroughly to identify and correct to avoid unnecessary or repeated downtime.
    • Anticipate wear and/or downtime through routine observation and operator feedback
    • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track completed work orders and schedule future work
    • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow all safety and company policies at all times
    • Having your own tools and be able to use them safely **Big plus

    Background Profile:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Mechanical troubleshooting experience requires
    • Electrical experience strongly preferred but not required
    • Experience in manufacturing preferred
