Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic / Packaging (Direct Hire)
Job Type: Full Time / Direct Hire
Location: Canandaigua, NY
Shift: Off shifts / B or C Shift – varied shifts available
Pay: $22-43/hr. depending on experience – shift differential
**Sign on bonus: $5000.00

The Job Duties:
- Mechanics or Technical skills considered
- Industrial Maintenance required
- Able to repair, install and maintain bearings / cylinders / belts / motors / conveyors
- Automation experience helpful: Bagging machines / case tapers / some robotic palletizing
- Electrical and PLC experience
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
- Troubleshoot malfunctions through understanding of power transmission systems, fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics), and other machine components and systems
- Locate root cause of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Assist with changeovers and prepare machinery for scheduled production runs
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
- Diagnose and prioritize problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as required to return machinery to service
- Understand production systems and machinery thoroughly to identify and correct to avoid unnecessary or repeated downtime.
- Anticipate wear and/or downtime through routine observation and operator feedback
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track completed work orders and schedule future work
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow all safety and company policies at all times
- Having your own tools and be able to use them safely **Big plus
Background Profile:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience requires
- Electrical experience strongly preferred but not required
- Experience in manufacturing preferred
