We are a specialized medical billing group focused on Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) billing under Medicare Part B, Chronic Care Management (CCM), Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), and professional E/M services. Position Overview
We are hiring a highly experienced Internal Auditor to independently conduct detailed billing and documentation audits for SNFs, CCM, RPM, and Evaluation & Management (E/M) services. This role is remote and suited for a seasoned, self-directed expert who can not only uncover compliance issues but also effectively educate providers on proper documentation and coding.
What You’ll Do
Perform internal audits for services billed under SNF Part B, CCM, RPM, and professional services
Validate E/M level selection by comparing provider documentation to Medical Decision Making (MDM) criteria
Identify overcoding or undercoding trends and provide recommendations for correction
Ensure CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding accuracy including appropriate modifiers and place of service
Create thorough audit reports with clear summaries, findings, and corrective actions
Lead provider education sessions to review audit results and improve documentation practices
Develop and manage your own audit tools, reporting templates, and tracking systems
Make proactive recommendations for process improvements and compliance enhancements
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in medical auditing and coding, with focus on SNFs, CCM, RPM, and E/M services
Advanced knowledge of E/M MDM guidelines (2021+ standards) and Medicare billing rules
CPMA, CPC, CRC, or similar credential from AAPC or AHIMA required
Comfortable working independently in a contractor role with minimal oversight
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and apply CMS guidelines accurately
Skilled in Excel and audit tools, and experienced in working within various EHRs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in provider education
