Position Summary
The Remote Data Entry Specialist plays an essential role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient and test information within our systems. This position is responsible for inputting, updating, and verifying data related to laboratory specimens, test orders, and client accounts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working independently in a remote environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately enter patient and test data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Review test requisition forms and verify information for completeness and accuracy
Identify and flag discrepancies or missing information for resolution
Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., client services, lab operations) to ensure proper data handling
Perform quality control checks on entered data and participate in audits when necessary
Manage daily workload to meet turnaround time requirements and productivity goals
Adhere to company policies, security procedures, and data entry protocols
Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent
Strong typing skills (recommended: 50+ WPM) with high accuracy
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Reliable high-speed internet and secure home workspace
Preferred:
Previous experience in data entry, healthcare administration, or medical records
Familiarity with LIMS, EMR, or similar healthcare systems
Understanding of medical or laboratory terminology
Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
