    Overview:

    The primary purpose of this job is to perform engineering and implementation specific tasks on enterprise infrastructure systems, services and applications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, system design; standards based implementation, capacity planning, systems integration, process / procedure development and refinement, and technical support.

    • Provide technical support for enterprise systems. Troubleshoot, repair and recover from basic hardware or software failures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
    • Perform routine operational tasks, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, resources, systems, and key processes. Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.
    • Perform systems related maintenance such as hardware rebooting, patching, backups, snapshots, health monitoring, hardware/software asset management, software distribution and server decommissioning.
    • Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining systems, application software and system management tools.
    • Maintain the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
    • Interact with senior engineers to identify areas of improvement for operational efficiency.
    • Work closely with technical and non-technical personnel within and across the Client’s departments and vendors.
    • Comply with Incident Management and Change Management procedures and reporting practices.
    • Serve as a Technical Lead and provide Subject Matter Expertise for project/task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
    • Lead and contribute to design discussions and ensure that designs are aligned with the Client’s Secure By Design philosophy, the Client’s architecture, and also the current roadmap.
    • Collaborate with senior engineers and Enterprise Architecture to design systems of high complexity.
    • Review system/application designs to ensure the selection of appropriate technologies, the efficient use of resources, and the proper integration of systems and technologies.
    • Assume technical responsibility for all stages of the software development process to ensure compliance with application development standards and achievement of documented requirements.
    • Develop and maintain accurate system/application documentation via the use of flowcharts, diagrams, and other relevant tools.
    • Perform code reviews and/or review pull requests to ensure adherence to established standards and practices.
    • Accountable for providing escalation support to troubleshoot and maintain production systems and to resolve production issues and outages.
    • Interact with other engineers and management to identify areas of improvement for operational efficiency.
    • Assign work to technical staff, monitor their performance, and report on their progress.
    • Remain current on relevant/new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations for adoption as appropriate.
    • Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to junior engineers in researching technical problems and designs of varying complexity in order to develop staff capabilities.
    • Review recommendations from junior engineers. Advocate and/or implement these recommendations, as appropriate.
    • Participate in on-call 24x7 support as needed in the event of system outage or failure.

    Requirements:

    • Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
    • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.
    • In lieu of a degree, combination of education and 3+ years of related work experience is required that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform all the essential job functions.
    • 5+ years’ experience with Hogan systems.
    • Must have: Hogan IDS experience
    • Highly Desirable - CIS UMB FSS ODS
    • Demonstrated understanding of Network, Compute, Storage, Cloud and End-User technologies.
    • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and multi-tasking skills desired.
    • Must be able to present system designs for user approval at formal reviews.
    • Must be capable to provide solutions to identified systems issues.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with any of the following is preferred: DB2, Easytrieve, zLinux, SOAP, XML, Web Services, Micro Services and Celeriti.
    • Distributed platforms knowledge will also be factored: ASP, SQL Server, Sybase, .Net, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, VBScript.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    • There are no additional licenses and/or certifications required
