Job Description
The Activities Coordinator is responsible for organizing and conducting an activity program for the residents that enriches the quality of their lives.
REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent, age of 18 or older, DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearances, current First Aid certification, health screening and negative TB test (must be less than 6 months old and can be completed within 7 days of hire), and will comply with all Federal, State and Licensing Regulations (Title 22 and Health & Safety Codes).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop a written plan of monthly activities and create and publish a monthly or bi-monthly activities calendar for distribution within and outside the Community.
· Maintain department within yearly budgeting guidelines.
· Develop an activities program that encompasses the following: physical exercise, arts and crafts, entertainment, religious services and special events.
· Encourage resident participation in the activities.
· Set up and organize all activities and events.
· Interview new and existing residents to discover what their activity interests are and develop programs that fit the majority.
· Organize leisure time activities such as games, puzzles, movies, etc.
· Coordinate and conduct weekly and special outside activities including scenic drives, luncheon and dinner outings, shopping and banking trips, etc.
· Decorate the Community for special events, holidays and parties.
· Educate the residents through guest speakers or classes such as current events, travel, health and other related self-help topics.
· Coordinate transportation schedules with the driver(s).
· Arrange for religious services and/or coordinate transportation to services outside the Community.
· Develop a network of outside and resident volunteers to assist with activities and special events.
· Other duties as directed by the Administrator.
