Engineering for Kids Part Time Teacher
NOW HIRING: Youth Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Instructors for Children Ages 4-14
Engineering for Kids of North Florida is a program that introduces STEM education to children ages 4-14. We take strive to encourage the development of basic math and science skills, as well as to expound upon the advanced topics encountered in middle school, like robotics and video game design. We work onsite at schools and community centers all over the First Coast. We offer rewarding work, flexible hours and pay commensurate with education and previous work experience. We are currently in need of great instructors to help run classes starting this summer!! Most sessions are in northern St. John’s and south Duval Counties.
INFORMATION:
Classes are Mon thru Sat, 60 min for each session.
We provide training, all equipment, and all curriculum materials.
LOCATION:
We currently need instructors for sites in all areas across Jacksonville and St. John’s County, specifically at The Bolles School The Bolles School Ponte Vedra Campus, Discovery Montessori School, Riverside Presbyterian Day School and San Jose Episcopal Day School, as well as many St. John’s County public schools.
AVAILABILITY:
Training will commence asap.
REQUIREMENTS:
Responsible – arrives on time to each session, can handle a group of 10 or more children, keeps accurate attendance, communicates well with site director, etc.
Professional – neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with school staff and director, and self-assured.
Educated – must have or be at least a Junior seeking a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or hard science discipline to be considered a Lead Instructor. Assistant Instructors can be 16 years old, with a good academic record.
Enthusiastic – MUST enjoy young kids, be able to connect with kids, primarily ages 4-14, must make Engineering for Kids the programs are where kids say, “School is Cool!”.. okay, at least make shooting rockets and playing with robots cool!
Fun – enjoys having FUN with young kids, being GOOFY, using your imagination, and watching kids smile.
Patient – must be a patient person who understands young kids.
Background check cleared – A successful candidate must pass a Federal & State Background Check and FBI Fingerprinting
