    Job Description

    Our Automotive Power Management IC group is looking for a talented EE graduate student to join our team as a Verification Engineer intern in our Morrisville, NC office. Our team works on PMICs used to power advanced Renesas MCU products here at Renesas. In this role, you will collaborate closely with analog and digital designers to verify silicon performance in a simulation environment. You will be responsible for understanding verification environments for these complex power management IC designs. Additionally, you'll develop an understanding of the functional safety standards essential in the automotive industry.

    Responsibilities

    • Interact with digital and analog engineers to understand the basic functions of a PMIC.
    • Actively assist in all stages of product development including specification, Digital and Analog Design Verification and Silicon debugging.
    • Support coding of simulation infrastructure using Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, Python, Perl etc
    • Set up and maintain Verification Environment, Develop, and Verify self-tested test benches for Mixed Signal chips and sub-circuits.
    • Use and develop advanced mixed-signal simulation techniques to enhance simulation efficiency.
    • Gain an understanding of functional safety standards relevant to automotive PMICs, such as ISO 26262. Apply these standards in the context of silicon verification for automotive applications.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams within the PMIC development process.
    • Participate in regular meetings and provide updates on project progress.

    Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in a graduate college degree program in Electrical Engineering.
    • Familiar with at least one coding language: C,C++, Verilog, System Verilog
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Must have good written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
    • Must be a team player and yet be an independent thinker with strong design fundamentals.

    Education

    • BSEE required (MSEE/PHD preferred)
