Job Description

As the Head of Product Engineering for Digitalization, you will spearhead the product engineering team for building the Renesas Digitalization platform.

This role will require a seasoned leader who has led teams building innovative, custom solutions. The leader will also demonstrate a deep understanding of the business and customer, provide clarity on the vision, drive strategy within the business unit while aligning with other business units for synergies and dependencies.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy, Roadmap, and Vision:

• Define and communicate a clear product strategy for digitalization.
• Develop and execute a roadmap that prioritizes feature development and product enhancements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to shape product vision.
• Understanding Renesas products, partnering with our sales teams and leaders, and defining how we build solutions targeted at specific business verticals.
• Manage efficient integration of various components into the Digitalization platform to improve our customers’ experience using Renesas products.
• Managing all aspects of research, development, and commercialization of new products.

Team Leadership:

• Leading a team of developers and engineers.
• Deep technical expertise and guidance, with a hands-on approach when needed.
• Leading and directing an overall cross-functional team to carry out new product development and launch activities.
• Build a strong, collaborative, and inclusive team, fostering a common vision for success.

Product Development:

• Lead cross-functional teams, including product managers and software engineers, in designing, developing, and launching software products and integrated development environments.
• Deep technical expertise in building integrated development environments, UX/UI, and solutions for Embedded applications.
• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, with a focus on custom solutions targeted to business segments and verticals.
• Set and maintain high standards for engineering execution.
• Create and monitor essential performance metrics with regular read outs to leadership to track development and other significant metrics.

Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate with executive leader to align product development efforts with business goals and revenue targets.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure the highest levels of software quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations

Qualifications

• Masters/PhD in Computer Engineering/Science
• Proven experience in Product Management, Integrated Development platforms and Software Development at scale.
• Demonstrated ability in Agile Software Development Practices
• Demonstrated ability in leading small and large teams building and shipping software at scale.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and present to stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a track record of successfully bringing software products to market.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Environment Based in San Jose, CA - Travel Required

The expected annual pay range for this position is $245,000 - 367,500. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities and commission pay.
