    Job Description

    Renesas Electronics is seeking an experienced MCU Field Application Engineer to manage technical support of both HW and SW for key industrial based customers; to interact with business units where applicable and provide feedback on product ideas, features, and user experiences; to help expand business through the support of technical sales in the North American region. This position is specific to the Atlantic northeast.

    Responsibilities

    • Build up close relationships to the technical departments of our customers.
    • Provide technical expertise & support to develop Renesas revenues with customers in close cooperation with the related Renesas Sales team
    • Solid technical understanding with focus on our MCU and MPU SoC products and relevant solutions.
    • Able to demo products and get involved with system level design or in-depth technical support as required.
    • Identify new sockets for Renesas by working closely with customers at project design level to achieve design win targets.
    • Create, organize, update, and track opportunities and designs.
    • Develop a good understanding of customer products and markets, and business requirements. Able to communicate them clearly at all levels internally and highlight critical product needs.
    • Understand the competition for us at customers and develop strategies to counter their activity.
    • Perform product training and drive local promotion programs.
    • Support customers through the whole lifecycle from 1st consultancy through design in to prototyping and production.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 8-10 years as a field application engineer supporting semiconductors in the technology industry and at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
    • Experience with wireless protocols a plus (WiFi, BLE, NFC, etc.).
    • 3+ years of experience in C / C++ embedded programming.
    • Experience working with international teams and across functions.
    • Ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving capability to interface customer needs & resources.
    • Capable of identifying key projects and recommending possible solutions.
    • Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills, self-motivation and excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Programming experience with tool chains (e.g. Keil, IAR, GCC, etc.), debuggers, etc.
    • Capable of communicating technical concepts to a wide audience.
    • ARM core and RTOS experience a plus.
