Job Description
The Network Engineer is responsible for-the installation, configuration and ongoing-usability of desktop computers peripheral equipment, software and related technology within established standards and guidelines. The Network Engineer assists in the maintenance of network infrastructure, servers, services, and associated equipment. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve problems. The position leverages one-on-one consultancy with end users and facility staff. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
The Network Engineer is charged with supporting and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems.
This position is responsible for the technical support of IT Systems including MedHost (Enterprise, EDIS, PIMS), Microsoft Window Desktops, AD, DC, and Printing systems, among others. The Network Engineer works directly with end users, Rennova Health’s Network and Help Desk Administrators and hardware/software vendors to ensure a manageable, stable, and secure application environment.
Other duties may include project and vendor management for systems-related projects, training staff and end users, documenting procedures, and being a consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of help desk support staff.
To perform his or her job well, the Network Engineer must demonstrate a blend of technical skills, communication ability, and responsibility.
JOB WILL REQUIRE TRAVEL BETWEEN WORKSITES LOCATED IN JELLICO, TN, ONEIDA, TN, AND WILLIAMSBURG, KY
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures effective oversight of workstations, servers, phones and communication systems
Provides support of desktop, server and network systems for break-fix, install, move, add, change, and preventative maintenance activities
Conducts routine hardware/software troubleshooting and problem resolution within the IT systems
Develops, documents, implements, and adheres to policies, procedures and standards related to system operations and application security.
Works with Rennova Health Corporate and vendor support contacts to coordinate and resolve technical problems with desktop and server computing equipment and software beyond internal capabilities
Escalates unresolved problems to expedite resolution
Provides user orientation and training on hardware and OS software
Assists Rennova Health in supporting and maintaining the LAN/WAN as appropriate
Maintains telephone system and connectivity
Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases
Works with Rennova Health to purchase hardware and software
Maintains accurate hardware/software inventory
Assists with project management activities
Supports and maintains-back-up-procedures-and-disaster-recovery-plan
Keeps abreast of developments in the desktop and server support field
EDUCATION
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Healthcare experience preferred
Specialized knowledge of desktop, servers, applications, peripherals and related technology to analyze and solve complex problems.
Requires independent analyses, communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to clearly communicate technical terms and applications to non-technical personnel.
Customer service approach and skills
Concentrated, exacting mental and visual effort to plan and perform complex work
Develop subject matter expertise and knowledge related to software packages, databases, OS and servers managed
Establish and implement application server procedures and policies for secure computing
Ability to troubleshoot application, server and desktop issues
Ability to plan and manage assigned technology projects
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently while keeping team informed
Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize web-based technology including Office365 for email, calendar, contact, Teams and document creation and management.
EXPERIENCE
5 years Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, PC hardware, and peripheral support experience
3-year Microsoft and user administration experience
3-year customer service experience
Network troubleshooting experience required
Experience developing and implementing Application/Server support plans, capacity planning, selection of hardware/software
Experience with software/security patch management
Experience troubleshooting basic connectivity, application issues, and printing problems
