Our rapidly-growing construction company is in need of a creative, full-time CAD designer to bring our client’s dreams to life! You’ll serve as our primary architectural drafter and produce original, computer-generated designs in 2D and 3D. Additional responsibilities include meeting with clients, integrating feedback, and revising designs as requested. Communication skills are a must in this role, as you’ll be regularly communicating the design progress to the construction team. Responsibilities: • Utilize computer software to generate 2D and/or 3D designs, depending on the project specifications • Revise designs according to feedback from clients and construction managers • Collaborate with construction team members to establish budgets and timelines for the designs • Background in renewable energy and interconnection • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices • Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD • Experience with system design and layout design • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes and standards • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications • Knowledge of electrical components, equipment, and materials • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Strong communication and collaboration abilities • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) • Perform calculations and analysis to determine system requirements Qualifications: • Proficient in using architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk BIM, Solidworks, 3DS Max, Chief Architect Premier: Construction Drawings, SketchUp, and Lumion • Be informed about the latest trends in design software and have a good understanding of the architectural design industry as a whole • Have great attention to detail, with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills • At least 2 years of experience in architectural design • Background in renewable energy and interconnection • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices • Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD • Experience with system design and layout design • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant codes and standards • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications • Knowledge of electrical components, equipment, and materials • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Strong communication and collaboration abilities • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) • Perform calculations and analysis to determine system requirements Compensation: $28 - $34 hourly
