    Job Description

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Vice President of Sales will serve as a leader and resource for the sales, marketing and operations of the company.   As an MBA subject matter expert, the Vice President of Sales will champion and promote new company initiatives and will provide direction for the business. 

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    • Serve as a leader, advisor and resource for company leadership, management, and employees providing insight into strategic plans and initiatives and the execution of them.
    • Propose forward-thinking solutions, partnerships and initiatives to benefit the company and leverage the core business.
    • Deliver solutions by utilizing critical thinking and problem solving abilities; collaborate with the leadership team, general managers, and other key stakeholders to gain input. 
    • Represent MBA to investors, customers, vendors and other potential strategic partners.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, alignment,
    • Mentor, lead, and guide on special company assignments as business needs dictate.

       

     

    SALES AND MARKETING LEADERSHIP

    • Provide knowledge and guidance to staff on product positioning for each distribution channel including retail, wholesale and independent dealers. 

    • Leverage product knowledge to provide input and insight on new product introduction strategies for marketing and sales teams. 

    • Develop and continuously improve relationships with MBA key customer accounts to maximize sales potential. 

    • Possess a deep knowledge of Midwestern BioAg products, corn belt cropping systems, specialty crops, and organic/transition process

    • Champion company philosophies and products at local and regional trade shows, sales meetings, vendor meetings, and recruiting events as required.   

    • Influence the sales team to recognize the importance of utilizing CRM as a beneficial tool. 

    • Other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, soil science, agribusiness, agriculture, animal science, or related field and/or 10 years of applicable education and experience.   

    • CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) preferred

    • Ability to effectively communicate concepts, philosophies and ideas to a diverse group of customers and employees. 

    • Excellent understanding of basic farming operations.   

    • Ability to identify sales opportunities and leverage company, products and services to increase the Company’s market share. 

    • Experience utilizing a CRM program, including establishing usage metrics and data collection methods. 

    • Experience with analyzing sales (product) data and trend reports.

    • Manage time and work load accordingly. 

    • Display a passion for agriculture, and the products and services MBA represents. 

    • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle

    • Ability to travel with occasional overnights required. 

    • Position may be required to work on weekends and outside of standard business hours.
