Repair the World (Repair) mobilizes Jews and their communities to take action to pursue a just world. We believe that service in support of social change is vital to a flourishing Jewish community and an inspired Jewish life. By 2026, Repair will inspire and catalyze one million acts of service towards repairing the world.

Repair is building a national Jewish service movement that mobilizes young adults to serve in their communities, catalyzes service through deep partnerships within Jewish communal organizations, and inspires people to take action through time-bound thematic national service campaigns, digital engagement, and service. Our mission provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful service and learning as a Jewish value, builds capacity for nonprofit partners to meet their missions, and deepens connections across lines of difference.

Position Overview

Repair the World is seeking a New York Teen Program Associate. The associate will work under Repair the World New York's City Director and in partnership with the Repair the World New York team across Brooklyn and Manhattan. The associate will manage timely and relevant communication with the teens and their families, synagogues and community partners, and lead programming regularly.

The successful candidate will be a flexible self-starter who excels at building relationships with teens, has a proven ability to manage, and facilitate service learning, is skilled at teaching and building community and is excited about leading innovative programming to engage teens in meaningful ways and to respond to the needs of marginalized and vulnerable neighbors.

Position Responsibilities

The Teen Associate's responsibilities include the following:

• Hold portfolio of relationships with Jewish synagogues, schools, and organizations that support teens across New York
• Communicate regularly and maintain ongoing relationships with a portfolio of service partners; engage in ongoing needs assessment in order to plan programs accordingly
• Design, host, and lead at least three service projects per month during the school year (September-June)
• Recruit teens from diverse backgrounds and experiences to participate in programming
• Maintain user data and apply it to inform engagement strategies
• Lead Repair the World NYC Summer Teen Service Corps, engaging rising 9th-12th graders in local service and social justice learning through a Jewish values lens
• Serve as the go-to person for all service opportunities for teens within the Repair the World New York community

Position Requirements

• Excellent facilitator of educational programming and service learning for teens
• Direct youth management experience
• Proven ability to connect with Jewish youth, families, and people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
• Training and experience in education, especially informal and experiential
• Sophisticated awareness of poverty, structural racism, power and privilege and ability to discuss these issues with diverse groups in ways that empower and open people to learning
• Understanding of and strong commitment to volunteerism and service best practices
• Ability to apply lessons learned in real time, and to course-correct accordingly
• Deep familiarity with Central Brooklyn neighborhoods

Compensation

The starting salary for this role is $64,000-$66,000 dependent on experience. Benefits package includes paid time off for service in addition to vacation and holidays, employer pays 90-100% for employee medical/dental/vision coverage and 50% for dependents, retirement matching, and professional development funds. In addition, employees that have been with Repair for at least a year are eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
