    Position Summary:

    Remodeler Job Duties:

    Rough framing, doors, trim, cabinetry, finish carpentry.

    Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements.

    Assist other craft workers with work as needed.

    Operate tools and equipment as needed to perform work.

    Clean or prepare worksite to eliminate possible hazards and make them ready for craft workers.

    Clean work site upon project completion.

    Work involves basic knowledge of heating, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, pest control, cement/masonry, electricity, painting and other finish work. Work may involve a variety of duties requiring physical labor and the use of chemicals, tools and mechanical equipment.

    Responds to service calls, complete COM work and other property maintenance requirements.

    Provide maintenance and rehabilitation of property. Duties include, but are not limited to cleaning, painting, interior/exterior decorating and maintenance, debris removal, plumbing, electrical work, smoke detector maintenance, relocation of furniture/fixtures, repair or replacement of lights, roofs, heating/air systems, appliances.

    Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other electrical and gas appliances.

    On-call emergency repairs and completes repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other organization management representatives.

    Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials.

    Transports equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites.

    Removes floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile and plywood. Removes damaged drywall.

    Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean roof tops, sidewalks and driveways of leaves and debris. Ensures work-site cleanup.

    Maintaining vehicle and vehicle inventory as instructed.

    Coordinating pickup and delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications of each project.

    Flexibility to make last minute supply runs.

    Communicating progress of project and supplies with each craftsman and office.

    Maintaining orderly purchase records/receipts for each job file.

    Requirements, Education, Knowledge and Skills:

    Minimum of six (6) years general construction experience.

    Computer Literacy

    Must have a working cell phone.

    Willing & able to pass a drug test.

    Willing & able to pass a background check.

    Own and use your own vehicle.

    Valid Alaska Driver’s License with clean driving record required.

    Proof of all certifications.

    Team mentality & strong work ethic & strong communication skills.

    Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.

    Work harmoniously with other craftsmen, and customers.

    Able to provide own basic tools.

    Able to climb ladders.

    Able to lift 90 lbs.

    Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, carrying, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

    Able to follow oral and written instructions.

    Knowledge of methods, tools, practices and systems used in the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cement/masonry and painting trades. Occupational hazards and safety precautions, standard practices, processes and materials involved in each trade relating to general building construction and maintenance.

    Use and care of tools and equipment employed in each trade relating to general building construction and maintenance.

    Willing to work under adverse weather conditions, if necessary, such as heat, cold and around mechanical equipment, chemicals, tools and with soil.

    SCHEDULE DETAILS

    Our crew works year-round - ability to work overtime is required.

    Monday - Friday is standard, 845AM - 5PM.

    Occasional overnight stays for projects outside of Fairbanks but within 120 miles.
