Job Description
Retail Dive is looking for you - a sharp, experienced reporter ready to deliver timely, insightful coverage of the retail industry. In this role, you’ll dive into the fast-paced world of physical retail and e-commerce, writing breaking news briefs, in-depth articles, and compelling feature stories.
You’ll collaborate closely with a team of editors and reporters to develop engaging coverage, whether it's a quick-turn earnings analysis or an investigative deep dive into how a distressed retailer’s strategy unraveled.
This is your beat to own. You’ll pitch original story ideas, build strong industry relationships, and chase down the stories that matter most. Reporting directly to Retail Dive’s managing editor, you’ll have the opportunity to shape coverage and make an impact in a dynamic newsroom.
What you’ll do:
Build an assigned beat
Develop source relationships with organizations and analysts relevant to your beat
Pitch story ideas and work with editors to refine angles
Write an average of 5 items per week, of varying length and depth
Identify and support team coverage of key storylines
Produce daily and weekly newsletters alongside your team — reporting, writing and editing every day in a collaborative fashion
Work as a team player to support Retail Dive's ambitious goals
Qualifications
The salary range for the role is $60k-88k USD depending on experience.
