    Shift : Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Location: Harrisburg, PA. Hybrid work schedule

    Department: Vulnerability Management

    This position focuses on the timely, efficient, accurate and secure transmission of data files between PHEAA and its’ internal/external clients and computer systems.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Infrastructure Operations/Data Exchange

    • Configure new, modify existing, and disable data transmissions, in accordance with PHEAA policies, for our clients/business partners.
    • Collaborate/communicate with authorized internal and external resources to facilitate setup and/or maintenance of transmission-related requests.
    • Maintain an audit trail and support business continuity by accurately documenting/recording new configurations, changes, issues, inquiries, upgrades, maintenance, and/or or other errors.
    • Follow the standardized change management process for all data transmission-related requests, including but not limited to firewall and network configurations.
    • Participate in design sessions with IT and Business staff to assist with the design of workflows and creation of data transmission-related requests.
    • Assist in the enforcement and responses to audit inquiries.
    • Perform daily verification tasks and error handling to ensure all expected files are successfully transmitted in accordance with PHEAA policies.
    • Perform timely transmission-related troubleshooting, including but not limited to the prevention of duplication of transmission(s).
    • Assist in the planning, customization, and maintenance of the transmission’s software.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participate in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
    • Comply with the Agency’s enterprise security and privacy policies and departmental procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Provide 24/7 on-call support as needed.

    Required Skills

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science and two to four years of experience in a multiple system support environment or any combination of experience, training, and knowledge.

    • Understanding of how transactions are transmitted through wire protocol using TCP/IP, SFTP.
    • Experience with Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel).
    • Effective communication skills necessary to make yourself understood when speaking about technical subjects.
    • Proficient track record of managing multiple activities with varying priorities while ensuring accurate and timely results.
    • Proven ability to pay attention to detail.
    • This position will support a federal government contract. Applicants must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions. For this level of clearance, the federal government requires applicants to possess U.S. citizenship. In light of this federal government requirement, PHEAA will be unable to hire applicants without United States citizenship for such positions.
