    GENERAL FUNCTION:       

    Work closely with the BSA Officer, this position will be responsible for the monitoring of the day-to-day Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control.  This individual will regularly communicate with the BSA Officer.  The primary duty includes conducting high risk customer reviews utilizing the bank’s resources (system software, reports, databases, and system applications) analyzing and monitoring high risk accounts and corporate structures for irregular transactions, etc. for Retail and Sponsored Products Divisions. Responsible for research preparation, investigations, and EDD reviews that are performed on all high risk customers (Retail and Sponsored Products Divisions) along with additional BSA responsibilities mentioned below.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice. Management may assign new duties, reassign existing duties, or eliminate a function.

    1. Act as an analyst on the NICE/Actimize system, working case files, for Retail, Sponsored Products and MSB Divisions
    2. Review and report the bank’s large cash transaction records.
    3. Review and report financial instrument logs sold for cash to affirm that the log is being maintained properly.
    4. Create and maintain files for all exempt, high-risk, MSB, Sponsored Products and SAR/SIR customers.
    5. Review and maintain all cash transaction records and any reports of suspicious transactions.
    6. Prepare/research the full transaction analysis and SAR report.
    7. Prepare and monitor a record of all wire transfers that are incoming/outgoing, new account risk rating, and branch coin & currency orders.
    8. Comply with the requirements of OFAC, the FBI’s Control List and USA Patriot Act, as applicable.
    9. Prepare the significant balance, and monetary instrument log on a monthly basis.
    10. Review / report any findings after reviewing the legal servings received by the legal department.
    11. Review and file Currency Transaction Reports accurately within the FinCen requirements and regulated time frame.
    12. Review and investigate debits and credits of a consumer or business account and identify suspicious or unusual activity within the account.

    Required Skills

     

    • Excellent communication skills required (oral and written)

    • Able to complete daily responsibilities with little supervision.
    • Able to maintain records in a detailed and organized manner.
    • Ability to meet deadlines

    • Typing minimum of 30 wpm
    • Good organizational and reconciling skills

    Required Experience

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2+ years’ experience in Banking combined with BSA/AML investigations 
    • Knowledge of high risk customer attributes and monitoring, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) 
    • BSA knowledge / background
