Request for Proposals - Trans Healthcare Navigator
About Us
Founded in 2024, Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE) is a national organization committed to advancing justice and equity for transgender and non-binary people through impact litigation, direct legal services, advocacy, and public education. Born from a merger of NCTE and TLDEF, A4TE's Legal Programs Department currently includes the Impact Litigation Project, Name Change Project, and Trans Health Project. A4TE has sued counties in New York and Florida for violence against trans people in jails.
We seek to be a leading employer for transgender people and our allies by providing competitive salaries and a robust, culturally competent benefits package. One such benefit is a dedicated transgender healthcare navigator, as laid out in our Collective Bargaining Agreement.

A4TE is seeking a Trans Healthcare Navigator on a consultant-basis to provide support to our staff in navigating the increasingly challenging landscape of access gender-affirming care. A professional patient advocate who understands the wide spectrum of treatments and procedures utilized for gender-affirming care is preferred.
We are particularly interested in bids from patient advocates with experience navigating insurance coverage for Facial Feminization/Masculinization Surgery, fat grafting, and/or other gender-affirming procedures that are often deemed cosmetic by private insurance.
If you provide services in patient advocacy, insurance claims navigation, prior authorization support, and are specifically trained in helping people access gender-affirming care through their health insurance, we are looking for you!
