    The Chaplain Coordinator is vital in the coordination of the chapel services. Serves to grow and maintain our relationships with area churches and ministers who volunteer to provide adult chapel services at the e Rescue Mission of Roanoke. They greet and pray with the churches, schedule, and facilitate the service to include setup, notifications and confirmations, and other duties as required.

    Hours of Availability:

    Full-Time with Flexible schedule options so you can attend at least 1 discipleship class each week 9a – 10a and available to assist with Chapel services 6p – 8p Monday – Friday.

    Compensation: $16.00/hour (non-exempt/hourly)

    · Demonstrated attention to detail/strong organizational skills to assist with multiple daily assignments and special projects.

    · Ambitious to exceed expectations.

    Job Specific Qualifications:

    Desire to minister to and love those who need Jesus Christ

    Professional, friendly, and pleasant customer focused skillset

    Experience with Microsoft Office; PowerPoint

    Ability to receive and maintain confidential information

    Ability to relate to people at various levels of spiritual maturity

    Some formal theological training preferred

    Temperament to make and respect professional boundaries

    Demonstrated listening skills for providing feedback in a counseling situation

    Proven networking skills; internal and external of organization

    Career summary:

    Chaplain Coordinator will coordinate and schedule Chapel events; available for chapel services in the evenings and discipleship classes during the day; internal communications with shelter and program managers; coordinate with members of chaplain team to ensure continuity of chapel services from evening to evening; backfill for chaplains as needed, develop and maintain community partnerships, coordinate transportation of guests as needed, represent the Rescue Mission at local agencies and in the community. Administrative duties include maintain volunteer calendar, maintain statistics, create PowerPoint and other media presentations.

    Chaplains provide pastoral care with prayer for shelter guests, program participants, and volunteers. Help guests make a connection with visiting churches/organizations. Assist with administrative duties as assigned.

    All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.
