The 2nd helpings Sales Associate will greet and assist customers, receive and disburse money through the cash register, process donations, straighten and replace the merchandise, and maintain a clean and neat workplace. Display excellent customer service, organizational and basic math skills. Workdays include weekdays and Saturdays.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise, furniture, and fixtures of up to thirty (30) pounds throughout the store unassisted and more than 30 pounds with assistance.

Basic math and computer skills.
Aids in loading customer’s purchases/furniture, etc.
Follow Rescue Mission Dress and Behavior Codes. Professional appearance. Dress, skirt, or slacks. Dress jeans without holes, tears, or patches are acceptable.
Ability to use E-mail, Punch Clock, Intranet, ShopKeep register system, and cell phone or camera to take photos.
Ability to work independently on repetitive tasks.
JOB DUTIES:
Inspect, merchandise, colorize, stock, and move inventory (clothing, accessories, housewares, furniture, etc.), displays, signage, and windows.
Research, price, and tag donations (clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac, furniture, etc.), including inspecting for damages, etc.
Steam clothing as needed.
Knowledge and use of the cash register system and use of credit card machines to provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers, including making correct change.
Sell merchandise to meet or exceed daily, monthly and annual sales goals by engaging customers to promote sales.
Answer questions regarding pricing, availability of items, etc in person or on the phone.
Greet donors, volunteers, and employees with a positive attitude.
Assist donors with purchases as needed.
Distribute donation receipts, coupons, and flyers to donors.
Take photos of donors and customers with their unique purchases and donations. Get photo releases. Email photos and information to Co-Managers & Development for use in newsletters, printed pieces, and social media.
Lead, train, and assign volunteers to areas or projects needing volunteer labor.
Keep a neat and orderly store by cleaning the store and donation dock area (vacuum, mop, dust, scrub, etc.), cleaning the fixtures, straightening the racks and display shelves, and general organization.
Attend 2nd helpings shop/gallery staff meetings.
