    Job Description

    The Research Analyst is a key contributor within the Market Intelligence team, responsible for leading complex analyses, generating actionable insights, and supporting strategic decision-making across Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Strategy. This role operates with a high degree of independence and analytical ownership, partnering closely with the Market and Consumer Intelligence Lead to shape insight narratives and business recommendations.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Strategic Data Leadership and Analysis

    • Lead the collection, integration, and validation of complex datasets from multiple internal and external sources (e.g., Euromonitor, IWSR, Nielsen).
    • Conduct advanced analyses on macroeconomics, market size, share, growth, pricing architecture, and packaging dynamics – translating findings into business implications.
    • Identify trends, inflection points, and emerging risks/opportunities across categories and packaging.
    • Proactively monitor macroeconomic signals, consumer behavior, and category developments, synthesizing implications for the business.
    • Ensure data integrity, methodological consistency, and best practices across reporting tools.
    • Support operational governance of MI data partners, including management of purchase requisitions (PRs), SAP-based spend tracking, and vendor coordination.
    • Conduct ad-hoc analyzes in response to emerging business questions, translating complex data into clear recommendations to support time-sensitive decision making.

    Insights Development

    • Translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Develop high-quality presentations, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI).
    • Lead production and enhancement of daily, weekly, and monthly intelligence collateral.
    • Support the Market and Consumer Intelligence Lead in preparing materials for senior leadership reviews.
    • Recommend analytical approaches to address business questions and guide stakeholders toward data-driven decisions.
    • Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting outputs.
    • Continuously build category and commercial expertise to ensure insights are grounded in business realities and directly tied to strategic priorities.

    _Collaboration & Communication _

    • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business questions and deliver relevant analyses.
    • Lead and execute high-priority ad hoc analyses with minimal supervision.
    • Maintain and continuously improve reporting templates, trackers, and dashboards.
    • Support ad hoc high-impact analyses for senior leadership and executive reviews.

    SCOPE AND IMPACT

    As part of the Market Intelligence team, you’ll play a foundational role in shaping how our organization understands the market landscape. Your work will directly inform commercial teams, business planning, innovation, and customer engagements across global and regional teams. The Research Analyst plays a critical role in shaping the analysis and insights that inform strategic discussions, helping teams move from information to action.

    You’ll contribute to:

    • Customer and category strategic planning
    • Category and packaging innovation tracking
    • Executive-level communications and business reviews

    This role is expected to move beyond reporting data to interpreting implications and identifying actionable recommendations.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, research, statistics or relevant fields.
    • 3+ years related work/internship experience preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Familiarity with basic statistical methods and calculations (e.g., CAGR, market share, growth rates).
    • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools preferred.
    • Familiarity with Power Query, DAX, and relational data modeling.
    • Curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving and insight-finding.
    • Strong storytelling and presentation development skills (PowerPoint).
    • Strong experience working with syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IWSR, Euromonitor).
    • Experience with SAP and procurement workflows required a plus.
    • Ability to work in a cross functional, fast-paced environment.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS < 10%

    What we offer at O-I:

    Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $69,060 - $86,320 . Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
