Job Summary
Medicilon is seeking an entry-level Research Associate to support in vivo, non-tumor disease model studies using rodent models. This role focuses on hands-on animal study execution while ensuring animal health, welfare, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with scientists and veterinary staff to support preclinical research programs.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine animal handling and restraint using approved procedures
Understand and adherence to safety, animal welfare, and regulatory standards
Prepare formulations and perform dose calculations
Administer test articles via common routes (e.g., oral gavage, IV, SC, IP)
Conduct basic tissue and blood collection (e.g., spleen, liver, cardiac puncture, IV sampling)
Monitor animals during in-life phases, including body weight, clinical observations, and measurements
Observe and report animal health and welfare concerns during procedures
Support study setup activities, including:
IACUC and protocol review
Labeling of collection materials
Animal room and study room preparation
Execute laboratory work in accordance with approved study plans, IACUC protocols, and SOPs
Qualifications
Required:
A.A./A.S. or B.A./B.S. in animal science, life sciences, or a related field
6–12 months of hands-on laboratory animal experience
Preferred:
Basic in vivo technical skills
ALAT certification
Familiarity with regulated research environments (GLP experience a plus)
