Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate - Part Time.

In this role, the successful part-time Research Data Associate (RDA) candidate will work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (PI) and the study team to ensure the accurate execution of the study protocol in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, IRB, and sponsor regulations. The RDA will track study goals, assist with participant recruitment and screening, and assist with study activities in conjunction with the PI and study team. The RDA will be assigned to work on different assignments and tasks between projects based on the real-time needs of the project and the interests of the individual. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: participant recruitment, baseline and follow-up data collection, participant tracking, and intervention delivery support. Responsible for protocol compliance and accurate data entry. Assists with IRB submissions and literature reviews as needed. Works collaboratively with the PI and study team to follow proper clinical trial processes and share up-to-date information on current issues.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participant Recruitment and Data Collection: Recruit and screen patients for eligibility; if eligible, complete necessary paperwork, questionnaires, and tests. Review entered data, edit obvious errors, and obtain missing information. Document all data accurately and neatly. Maintain patient confidentiality. Adhere to adverse events reporting protocols.
• Participant Tracking: Track participant flow through the study and update tracking logs in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain participant tracking databases for compliance with data monitoring and confidentiality protocols.
• Project Knowledge: Demonstrate mastery of research protocol. Have a thorough knowledge of current department research studies and their rationales. Assist with research-related administrative duties as needed such as filing, copying, faxing, deliveries, and document preparation among others. Assist with institutional review board submissions as needed.
• Assist with recruitment outreach and obtain informed consent from study participants by carefully following study protocols and scripts. Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures of clinical research administration, including the regulatory requirements such as IRB and other approvals. Provide direct project support and coordination of activities, as needed, to achieve study aims and meet deliverables and deadlines. Coordinate activities across multiple projects and provide research support services.
• Interact with the participant in a courteous and professional manner. Collaborate with various personnel that may be involved in assisting with specific aspects of the study. May also complete assessments on study participants per protocol (with proper training); continue to follow-through with items and patients as part of the research study.
• Utilize established methodologies to collect participant information for the research project(s); gather and compile data, statistics and other materials as needed. Input clinical and non-clinical data into the database and or case report forms. Extract data for publications. May perform library searches and retrieve reference materials from various sources; request articles from medical journals.
• Compile data and assist in consolidating and analyzing data for presentation to sponsoring and regulatory agencies. Review data with the supervisor and then provide reports to all parties (e.g., data and safety monitoring committee, the principal investigator, sponsoring agency, etc.) on the progress of the study. As well as, support the day-to-day operations of the projects. Organize and maintain research records. Assist the PI and study team in carrying out all aims of the project(s).
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required (i.e. literature reviews, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail. Must be able to follow study protocol rigorously.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $29.56 - $29.56 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
