Summary
A Research & Development Intern at Hoehn Plastics, will have the chance to engage at the crossroads of innovation and practical application within the plastics industry. This role is tailored for individuals who are enthusiastic about learning and making meaningful contributions to the quality of our products.
Responsibilities
Participate in the quality control lab with testing materials, sampling, molding samples, identifying materials, and conformance.
Assist with production processes and quality assurance protocols.
Conduct quality control checks on incoming materials.
Perform quality control checks on outgoing materials.
Carry out research and analysis related to plastics manufacturing.
Working Conditions
This position requires flexibility to work in various environments, including offices, outdoor areas, warehouses, and manufacturing sites. You may encounter diverse conditions, such as exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, dust, and forklift traffic. Safely operating a forklift is also a requirement.
Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to meet specific physical demands, which include standing on concrete, climbing stairs, lifting heavy objects, and bending.
A Research & Development Intern must be able to move quickly between tasks and adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
A Research & Development Intern will frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with the occasional movement of items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Qualifications
Individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in the plastics industry, even if they are not pursuing a degree in a specified or industry related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Excellent communication skills.
A passion for manufacturing and sustainable practices.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
Those pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or related fields are preferred.
