    Job Description

    ARPA-H is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Research Opportunity Manager to support innovative research projects and partnerships.

    In this role, you will manage a pipeline of high-impact ideas, help turn bold concepts into actionable programs, and connect internal teams with external partners to improve human health outcomes. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and passionate about advancing groundbreaking research.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify & Assess Opportunities: Review research ideas and proposals, evaluate alignment with ARPA-H goals, and prepare summaries for leadership.
    • Manage Project Pipeline: Track, prioritize, and advance potential projects while ensuring alignment with mission and funding priorities.
    • Build Relationships: Serve as a liaison between ARPA-H teams and external partners to foster collaboration and innovation.
    • Streamline Processes: Develop and refine workflows for submitting, reviewing, and managing proposals. Ensure smooth coordination between teams and partners.
    • Evaluate Proposals: Conduct initial assessments for feasibility and impact; coordinate with subject matter experts for deeper review.
    • Monitor Outcomes & Report Insights: Track project results and long-term impact; provide data-driven insights to support leadership decisions.
  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate’s degree in business, management, journalism, technical, or related field (experience in place of higher degree accepted).
      2+ years of experience in project coordination, innovation management, or similar roles in healthcare, research, or technology.

    • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

    • Experience managing complex project pipelines and workflows.

    • Familiarity with research funding processes in government or grant-based organizations.

    • Ability to handle changing priorities and work under pressure.

    • Professional writing skills for documentation and presentations.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
    • Knowledge of federal funding mechanisms, including other transaction proposals and contracts.
    • Experience managing large-scale proposal or innovation pipelines.
    • Background in coordinating initiatives for government agencies, non-profits, or research organizations.

    Job Type: Full-Time
    Location: 1301 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20005
    Work Model: Hybrid (up to 60% remote)
    Clearance: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and eligible for a Public Trust clearance
    Compensation: Up to $135K/year (commensurate with experience)
