A mission-driven, community-based healthcare organization in Southern California is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Family Medicine Residency Program Director to lead and oversee its ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.

Position Summary
The Family Medicine Residency Program Director provides strategic, educational, and administrative leadership for a community-based residency program training approximately 12 residents (4 per year). The Director oversees program operations, accreditation, curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and resident education while ensuring full compliance with ACGME requirements.
This position combines academic leadership with clinical practice and reports to senior medical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and administration of the Family Medicine Residency Program
Ensure ongoing compliance with ACGME and RRC requirements, including reporting and accreditation activities
Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate curriculum, policies, procedures, and program infrastructure
Recruit, develop, supervise, and retain core faculty and teaching staff
Oversee resident recruitment, selection, evaluation, remediation, and participation in the NRMP Match
Design and maintain inpatient and outpatient rotations, including hospital teaching services (OB experience may be required)
Ensure resident education across ACGME core competencies
Monitor resident duty hours, well-being, and compliance with state and federal regulations
Maintain relationships with participating institutions, specialists, and educational partners
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and resident scholarly activity
Maintain an active clinical practice (up to 0.5 FTE)
Serve on committees, participate in peer review, and support organizational initiatives as needed
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency
Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFM) with active maintenance of certification
Unrestricted California medical license (or eligibility)
Active DEA and CPR certification
Minimum 3 years of faculty and GME administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
Strong working knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards and residency administration
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Demonstrated commitment to resident education and mentorship
Experience with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model preferred
Working knowledge of medical Spanish strongly preferred
Proven ability to lead in culturally and linguistically diverse environments
