    Job Title: Resident Engineer / Coordinator

    Location: On-site at customer’s facility

    Job Summary

    The Resident Engineer / Coordinator leads all activities for products at the customer location, communicating product issues at the customer plant. This role moves throughout the production facility, interfaces directly with the assembly line, customer supplier quality organizations, and manages a team (Supervisors, Team Leaders, Technicians) to ensure customer containment and rework activities are completed on time and meet customer quality standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support product launches at customer location
    • Share and escalate problems, communicating issues to supplier plants and contributing to informal problem solving
    • Prepare and submit 24 Hour Reports
    • Prepare and execute test plans and reports (capability studies, qualification, validation) for improvement activities
    • Provide technical assistance on writing and executing test approvals and reports for manufacturing
    • Detect and communicate early risks at the customer’s facility; manage scrap, repairs, and defective part reinspection as needed
    • Monitor/manage Formel D staff or third parties to ensure only approved automotive components are shipped to the OEM for vehicle assembly
    • Track corrective actions and measure their effectiveness
    • Attend customer meetings and product review sessions
    • Ensure and document resolution for all issues raised during testing; provide recommendations for solutions
    • Collaborate with product and supplier engineers to establish quality criteria for new projects
    • Support project startups to implement customer requirements related to timing, instructions, quality control, and risk assessment, including team-building and development to meet standards
    • Assist in the development and support of assembly floor quality systems
    • Guide and support quality systems on the assembly floor
    • Review current production changes for process, design, or material improvements
    • Partner with internal teams to drive process and continuous improvement, providing technical direction and support
    • Drive achievement of key objectives and results

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Proficiency in Spanish and English (business/technical settings)
    • 8–10 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally in interior components
    • Automotive seating experience strongly preferred
    • Two- to four-year technical degree strongly preferred; Bachelor of Science in Engineering with minimum four years of related experience required
    • Authorization to legally work in the U.S. for at least the next three years
    • Ability to self-manage and self-direct daily activities
    • Strong analytical, creative, and persistent problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
    • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team
    • Positive interpersonal skills, adaptability to collaborate at all organizational levels, and effectiveness with a diverse workforce
    • Flexibility to operate outside rigid organizational boundaries

    Environmental & Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move products, equipment, and supplies up to 50 lbs
    • Ability to work at heights of 20–25 feet
    • Frequently stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts exceeding 8 hours

    Salary info:

    $33.65 - $39.42 / hr
