Function:
Provides client supervision and care during evening and weekend hours.
Supervisor:
Director of Clinical Services and/or designee
General work schedule:
Evenings (generally 5:00pm – 8:00am) and weekends: Fridays – Mondays, varying shifts (with flexible meal breaks and sleep time every day)
Qualifications:
High school education or GED equivalent
Must have a valid LA driver’s license and be able to obtain a Chauffer’s driver’s license
Pre-employment negative drug screen and background check that includes driving record that meets LACG insurance requirements
Free from TB and this verified by annual skin test by CORE
Duties:
Will notify Director of Clinical Services, or staff member on call, of any treatment or facility problems that need to be addressed
Will notify Director of Clinical Services and/or designee, within 2 hours prior to shift of being late and/or ill
Supervises and documents all medications taken by clients
Insures that all doors are locked after normal business hours and sets alarms as appropriate
Answers all calls made to the facility after normal business hours, and fills out necessary paperwork on each call
Carries the after hours CORE cell phone whenever off premises during normal shift time, to answer calls made after normal business hours and to be able to be contacted by other staff members
Checks that all kitchen equipment is turned off after last meal of the day.
Transports and attends with clients the AA and/or GA meetings within and off facility grounds
Arranges for transportation of clients in a medical emergency, fills out incident report, and calls appropriate on call staff person to report incident
Arranges for transportation of clients for arrival and/or departure from the facility after normal business hours, when needed
Completes all necessary discharge paperwork and check clients out of the facility after normal business hours
Inspects client areas daily for cleanliness and safety
Inspects all areas of the house cleaned and maintained by clients every morning to insure that clients have completed cleaning tasks as assigned
Briefs all clients on emergency safety procedures as scheduled, and insures that clients know where emergency instructions/exits are located
Conduct periodic emergency drills, not less than once a month, when instructed
Reports to clinical staff any suspected use of mood altering chemicals, gambling, and/or intimate relationships by the clients
Receives intake calls, fills out necessary paperwork, and notifies Intake/Admissions Counselor of the intake
Will admit clients that arrive outside of regular business hours and complete any necessary tasks related to admitting a client
Assists the clients to understand all of the client guidelines and expectations at CORE by conducting a weekly group session on Sundays (if on shift) to review written rules, and pass on any concerns to clinical staff, if necessary
Inspects the facility several times during the shift to make sure that all office doors are locked, no computer equipment is left on, and that no office phones are in use by clients.
Will check on clients every 60 minutes for a head count and fill out the appropriate census report. This form will be turned in at the end of shift
Is responsible for finding a replacement to work, with Director of Clinical Services’ approval, for requested time off
Will fill out incident reports for any accidents occurring on facility grounds or on a facility sponsored outing and provide to the Director of Clinical Services, will call Director of Clinical Services when incidents occur
To attend and monitor client group activities, where needed
Will attend with participation, morning staff meetings
And any other job related duties as assigned by Supervisor
